Interconnected Upcycled Wall Hanging
“Interconnected” is part of a larger series of loop pieces I have been working with for the past few years. As I make and wrap the loops, I am reminded of how connected we are as humans to the environment, our families, and our memories. I love using upcycled materials as much as possible, and in searching through thrift stores and cutting up strips of pre-loved fabric I always wonder about the people who used this material before me. I believe that these original memories are held within the fabrics, and I believe that by incorporating these fabrics into my work I am honoring these memories. With my wall hangings I hope to bring joy, color, and thoughtfulness to people’s living spaces and remind them of their own interconnectedness.
